DMX Linking

DMX linking is daisy chaining more than one MotionOrb™, through the DMX In and Out ports.

The MotionOrb™ has two modes that require DMX linking:

• Master/Slave mode, in which the master MotionOrb™ sends DMX signals to the

MotionOrb™ slaves

• DMX mode, in which the DMX controller sends DMX signals to the MotionOrb™

To DMX link MotionOrb™ products do the following:

1. Connect the male end of the DMX cable to the DMX Out port of the master MotionOrb™, or

the DMX controller.

2. Connect the female end of the DMX cable to the DMX In port of the next MotionOrb™.

3. Connect the male end of another DMX cable to the DMX Out port of the MotionOrb™ in

step 2.

4. Connect the female end of the DMX cable into the next MotionOrb™.

5. Continue connecting each other MotionOrb™ until they are all part of the chain.

• When DMX linking MotionOrb™ products for Master/Slave mode, the master is the

first MotionOrb™ in the chain and there is no DMX controller. See

Master/Slave

Configuration for details.

• When DMX linking MotionOrb™ products for DMX mode, the DMX controller is the

first thing in the line.

• Never connect more than 32 MotionOrb™ products together on a single DMX chain.
